Mentor Training
Why Mentor
Why are you doing this? Why are you mentoring a student?
The most significant payback is the knowledge that you are providing a student with someone who cares about them and lets them know they are not alone. This allows the student to improve their self-confidence and motivation which, in turn, will enable them to be more successful in all aspects of life.
Some Statistics
After one year of mentoring, the average student improvements are as follows (mentoring.org)

Consider This
Plan ahead before your visit. Mentally review your previous interactions with your student and plan accordingly with questions, games, activities, and open ears. Make sure the time you spend with your student is geared toward them incorporating fun and trust. Remember, your primary goal is to build a loving, trusting relationship with your student to prepare them for the future and give them resilience.
